When a Year 13 student leaves FBS, their time at FBS does not end. They remain part of the school community and the FBS Alumni is here to facilitate this.
The FBS Alumni slogan is: enjoy, give back, network. This summarises what we are and what we aim to do.
Enjoy – We organise a yearly meet up for all the alumni and keep them involved in fun events at school. The reality is that we will always have a close connection due to our common school experience and our events allow us to stay connected to the school community long after we leave.
Give back – At FBS, we believe that we remain part of the school community long after we graduate. We are all immensely grateful for and proud of the school that FBS has become and as a result, we look to give back to the school in order to ensure that future generations of FBS students love it as much as we did. FBS Alumni looks to give back to the school financially, by providing work experience, by supporting university applications, by volunteering at school events and much more.
Network – It is natural for an alumni community to become a network. Our work is to ensure we each are able to take advantage of it, as well as the school. In 10, 20, 30 years, this network will be an extremely exciting, ambitious and varied community, ready to support both former and current students in fulfilling career ambitions!
Finally, to enable all of this, a big part of FBS Alumni’s work is fundraising. To do this we have set up the 2014 Circle in order to fund the work of FBS Alumni and to support the FBS Foundation, which you can read more about below.
The 2014 Circle is named after the year of the school’s foundation and is a unique way for alumni (and their families) to stay connected and to support future generations of FBS students.
FBS is trying to achieve something special. It aims to provide a breadth and quality of education that can only be found in schools (usually independent) with vast incomes and resources. We believe that great education should not only be accessible to those who can afford it, and the only way we can achieve this aim is through raising money each year via The FBS Foundation.
It is an incredibly difficult task, but FBS has one very special ingredient that other schools do not have: its astonishingly supportive community. FBS has grown from literally nothing to a flourishing school of more than 800 students in the space of 10 years: an achievement only possible because every member of the school community is so committed to ensuring its success.
As our alumni base grows, we have been asked to find a way for former students and their families to remain connected whilst also give something back to the school and its future generations. For
this reason, we have created The 2014 Circle.
We recognise that our recent leavers are not in a position to donate vast sums to The FBS Foundation. Therefore, membership of the 2014 Circle is from as little as £20.14 per year. We hope that this relatively small sum will be acceptable to many of our alumni.
Can £20.14 really make a difference. Yes. Definitely. Remember that we are building for the future. It is our hope that generations of leavers will sign up, and in doing so create a sizeable annual donation that can be used to support the school’s aims. Imagine the benefits if, over the years, hundreds, or even thousands, of our alumni join the circle. Together, the whole of the alumni community becomes much greater than the sum of its parts.
In the early years of the 2014 Circle, the money raised will be put directly to supporting alumni events. In simple terms, the more we raise, the more we can put into events and activities to bring
former students back together.
We hope you may choose to get involved. If you would like to join The 2014 Circle, please click here.
Thank you for your consideration and your ongoing support of The Fulham Boys School.

Year Graduated: 2022 Role on the Committee: President – In September 2022, I was asked by Alex Wade, our Chairman Governors, to found FBS Alumni. I therefore set up a team of six amazing people around me to make sure that alumni of FBS are able to properly enjoy, give back and network. Read their roles below! What you are doing now: I am now studying a BA in History and Politics at St John’s College, Cambridge. Favourite FBS Memory: 2022 trip to Korea! |

Year Graduated: 2023 Role on the Committee: Give Back – FBS is truly a great, caring and supportive community and I believe that this doesn’t stop when you finish year 13! I work with the school to coordinate ways that our alumni can give back to the FBS community through the 2014 Circle, university application support, tutoring and more. I also help manage the alumni email and I write the termly FBS Alumni newsletter, so keep an eye out for those! What you are doing now: I am currently reading Geography at the University of Oxford (at St Peter’s College). Favourite FBS Memory: My favourite FBS memory would have to be supporting my cohort in the staff vs leavers match in 2023 as the giraffe mascot. I loved seeing our cohort come together to demolish the staff and the support from boys across the school was amazing! But I also loved the little things at FBS, such amazing conversations with a wide range of people at lunchtimes and playing football in the playground during breaks in our late evening A-Level study sessions. |

What you are doing now: I am now studying BA Geography at the University of Exeter and in the future hope to have a career in the field of Sustainable Development. Favourite FBS Memory: One moment at FBS I will never forget was the feeling of beating St. Cecelia’s in the Friday Night Lights rugby game. It was a great demonstration of how close the school community was, with a huge amount of support from all year groups turning up to support the team. |
