We need additional funds to deliver our unique brand of education
As a Free School, The Fulham Boys School is a non-profit-making, non-selective independent state school with control over its curriculum and standards. We can only achieve our vision to be one of the best schools in the country, state or private, with additional support. This is the reason why we are asking you to support our school, to serve current and future generations of FBS boys.
The government provides funding of around £6,000 per child per year for a standard secondary education. The school aims to raise a further £500,000 per annum in additional financial resources to enable us to offer extras which are not covered by government funding alone namely:
- High Quality Staff Recruitment and Retention
- Smaller Class Sizes
- Longer School Day
- Co-Curricular and Enterprise Programmes
We also need to improve our engagement with Companies, Trusts and Philanthropists and any help with these would be most welcome.

To achieve our goal, we need more families who can afford it, to contribute our core ask of £100 per boy per month. We know that many families are not able to donate additional funds so we also invite you to increase your donation to support another FBS boy.
We also need to improve our engagement with Companies, Trusts and Philanthropists and any help with these would be most welcome.
Our FBS Resilience Fund supporting other FBS families
The FBS Resilience Fund was set up in 2020 to support FBS boys and their families facing financial hardship. The Fund helps pay for uniform and equipment for those in need as well as supporting with music and drama lessons for boys for whom finance is a barrier to achievement in the Arts.
Support An Enterprising Approach To Learning
Traditional education is not providing children with the skills they need to thrive in the real world, according to the World Economic Forum. That’s why The Fulham Boys School approach is consciously different.
A publicly funded, non-selective school, our curriculum goes far beyond the traditional, to prepare boys for life beyond the classroom:
- Small classes and great teachers mean better academic attainment
- Extended school day means more time for extracurricular activities, sports and soft skills
- Year-round Enterprise programme means real-world learning outside the classroom.
We believe that all boys, regardless of background, should have equal opportunities to thrive in school and flourish in the workplace. Bridging the gap between state and private education, we do not select on academic aptitude or family income, instead welcoming boys from all walks of life, ensuring ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic diversity in our unique school community.
Learning | Sport | Enterprise | Opportunity
We offer boys more than the Department for Education funding covers, so we ask families that can afford it, to contribute £1,200 per boy per year to make up the difference. 40% of our boys are from backgrounds that make financial contributions impossible, so our charitable foundation works hard to help us raise the funds that will keep our school open to all.
- £1,000 would provide work experience for a Year 10 student who cannot otherwise access a suitable placement,
- £10,000 would enable one boy to benefit from all the enterprise, extracurricular and sporting opportunities at FBS for his whole secondary school life,
- £25,000 would fund a full week of dedicated Enterprise learning for the whole school – from finance workshops to university visits, teambuilding to STEAM.
We know our model works – since we were founded in 2014, our first boys have been offered Oxbridge places, and all our boys have enjoyed a richer and more varied learning experience than is expected in a state secondary. Boys take personal responsibility for planning and delivering
projects, develop leadership and teamwork through a wide range of sports and extracurricular activities, and learn financial skills in real-world scenarios, including the Young Enterprise ‘Tenner Challenge’, where even our youngest pupils can learn to turn a substantial profit on £10.

In Return For Your Support
We can offer our corporate partners a bespoke package of benefits, tailored to work for you – e.g.:
- Brand / naming rights on key school spaces and awards,
- Promotion / access to our diverse parent network,
- Engagement with your future workforce, through work experience and practical involvement with our boys,
- Networking, speaking and mentoring opportunities,
- Something else entirely – let’s talk.
In addition to the education programmes, we have a number of opportunities for personal or corporate sponsorship across the school. Bespoke sponsorship packages can be created for individuals, charities and commercial organisations to include branding, promotion and use of facilities on a one-off or regular basis.
A key focus area for the current academic year is the FBS breakfast club. Our school day runs from 8:30am until 5:00pm. We know that lots of our boys leave their house each day without eating so we aim to help everyone by offering free breakfast items to our students to set them up for the day as well as fruit during morning break to support a healthy, balanced diet.
In addition to nutritious food, there is an opportunity for the boys to start the day in a sociable, supportive eating occasion with other boys and staff. The Breakfast Club also presents an opportunity for staff to support specific boys socially and academically as required.
The cost of this support is £25,000 per annum.
If you or your organisation would like to explore this or other sponsorship opportunities please fill in the sponsor form to get in touch.

Resilience Fund
As a school, FBS seeks to support our boys and their families on a daily basis throughout their time at FBS. For our more vulnerable boys this support often extends beyond the school day.
On occasion our boys or their families encounter exceptionally difficult circumstances. In contingency for these situations FBS are seeking to build a Resilience Fund to enable us to support boys and their families on a discretionary basis in times of crisis.
Funding target: £10,000 fund
Volunteer – Our greatest asset is our community
We know that our network of parents, family members, friends and business contacts hold vast knowledge and skills which we hope to be able to share for the benefit of our boys.
Our outstanding FBS Enterprise Programme is made possible by the opportunities created for the boys of FBS by individuals, community groups, charities and businesses within the school, community and workplaces.
We are very proud of the mutual benefit these programmes generate by way of the creation of both experience for our boys but also the valuable contribution they have made to community groups, charities and businesses in realising their social goals and meeting their Corporate Social Responsibility objectives.
We also need volunteers to help us in school with a variety of activities from library administration to participation in our ‘speed networking afternoons where boys choosing their GCSE options are able to find out about different careers from the people doing those jobs – you!
If you have skills and time that you think will be of use to us, please complete this volunteer form and we’ll be in touch.

FBS Community
As a school we seek to engage our extended school community of families and friends with a programme of inclusive social and cultural events. We invite the families and friends of FBS to volunteer to help organise these events. There are many roles available from pre-event organisation to event hosting and organisation with options for regular or one off involvement.
Mock Interview
Offer the experience of mock interview to our boys. The boys will apply to you in writing with their cv and reasons why they would like to be invited to interview. You can choose how many boys you would like to interview and conduct interviews at your place of work or FBS as you prefer.
FBS Enterprise Network
Friends and family of FBS represent an incredible network of businesses, charities and organisations. We invite you to register your interest to join the FBS network to receive termly news updates on the FBS Enterprise Network and invitations to evening business and networking events at the school.
