Head of Liddell House and Teacher of PE
Darren began his path to education by volunteering in a local school’s PE department, which later led to him becoming a cover supervisor and teaching a variety of subjects. Outside of school term time, Darren worked as a youth worker for Everton in the community, facilitating the delivery of the NCS government programme. This programme helped to develop young people socially, personally and professionally.
Darren joined The Fulham Boys School after completing his PGCE at Edge Hill University in Lancashire. He has been teaching PE at FBS for five years now and has been Head of Liddell for three of them.
“Liddellians are asked to embark upon three ideologies. Firstly, to do their best at everything they do; not everyone can be the best sportsman, singer, debater or mathematician, but everyone can perform to the best of their abilities. Secondly to have a collective responsibility towards the House, personified through inter-house competitions, house points, attendance etc. Lastly, boys are encouraged to be proud. Proud of their work, their appearance, to be proud of the house effort they contribute towards and most of all, to be proud to be a Fulham Boy.”
