Deputy Head of Maths
After studying Financial Economics at Birkbeck, University of London, Aimi followed her passion for applied mathematics to work at an International Investment Bank. Continuing her learning, Aimi completed the Chartered Financial Analyst exams and moved to a research role, contributing to the thematic analysis of secular and cyclical trends.
It was when her own children reached school age that she paused to consider the privileges awarded by a good education, and, in particular, the benefits of a strong education in maths.
Retraining as a maths teacher was a natural fit with her passion for continual learning. After completing her PGCE she worked at Woolwich Polytechnic School for Boys and Elmgreen School, developing programmes for gifted and talented students as well as leading teaching and learning for year 7 maths.
“I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to work with the Maths team at FBS; I share their vision for teaching and learning Maths alongside developing the students’ cultural, moral and spiritual capital. A knowledge-rich, stimulating curriculum, with a strong focus on reasoning, empowers children to become independent learners.“
