On Friday 21st April, our Staff played our Year 13 Leavers in a highly anticipated match. Both teams started off strongly, however it was the Year 13s who began better, scoring within the first two minutes with a finely placed finish from Kai. Not long afterwards, some scrappy defending from the Staff led to Morgan scoring to make it 2-0. The half time whistle sounded and the staff were relieved to hear this (from both a game and fitness perspective…)
In the second half, the Staff started brightly, better passing and more consistency in play with Mr Brophy making a brilliant save early on. However, the Year 13’s dominance could not be denied and a well drilled move led to Chanse chipping Mr Brophy to make it 3-0. Another good spell of play saw Kai score once more to make it 4-0 and put the game to bed. The Staff did have a slight consolation towards the end, a contentious decision from the referee saw the Staff awarded a penalty, which Mr Smith slotted home. Congratulations to all on a great game and well done to the Year 13s. Follow this highlight video link for a brief video of the match.
Furthermore, our Under 14 A Cricket Team beat Wetherby Senior School by 8 wickets this week, a score of 34 for 2 against 33 all out. Fantastic result gents and well done!
