Attendance Figures
At The Fulham Boys School pupil attendance is taken very seriously. Absence from school is one of the biggest barriers to progress; not only will your son miss lessons for that day but he will also be less prepared for lessons when he returns to school. The Fulham Boys School aspires for all students to have attendance over the course of the academic year of 97% or above.
If your child is genuinely ill or unable to attend school, parents are asked to leave a message on the Absence Line before 8am on each day of absence on 02073817100. The message should explain clearly the reason for a student’s absence. Please note that reasons like ‘unwell’ and ‘sick’ will not be authorised. Alternatively parents can also email the school at absence@fulhamboysschool.org.uk. Rest assured that if a student is unwell at school, our team of First Aiders will assess him and contact you immediately.
If parents are aware of any barriers to their son having positive attendance patterns they are asked to inform their son’s Head of House or the school’s Attendance Officer so that they can work with parents and students to support however possible.
Outstanding attendance and punctuality is rewarded with weekly House Points, half-termly bacon rolls for one of the Houses and is recognised in our termly Celebration Assemblies. 100% Attendance certificates contribute to the FBS Enterprise Diploma.
A full copy of the school’s Attendance Policy can be found in the Policies section of this website should further details be required.
