Julia Fitzgerald – Science and Maths Teacher

Julia worked in Industry and ran her own business in Corporate Responsibility for a number of years.  Julia graduated with a Mathematics PGCE from St Mary’s’University College in 2012, as she discovered whilst building links between businesses and schools that the education sector was the area that she was most passionate about.

Julia worked for the last six years in The Douay Martyrs Catholic School in Hillingdon. During her time there she became Head of Careers and successfully studied towards a Masters in Education, specialising in Careers and recently completed a secondment on the Senior Leadership Team.

Julia joins FBS having taught at all key stages in Mathematics and will be actively supporting the development of the Careers curriculum within the Enterprise team. She enjoys keeping fit, regularly runs half-marathons and has recently completed her first triathlon.

‘I am extremely excited to be joining FBS and help take forward both the Maths and Science departments into the the first GCSE year and then into Key Stage 5. I am also looking forward to fostering business links and working with other subject leaders to really underpin the Enterprise pillar of the school through Careers. Being part of a new school and contributing to the co curricular programme it offers is something I am relishing!
