FBS’s Founders established the school and now hold the governors to account for its ethos. The 10 founding members include the governors, Arabella Northey, Meriel Stinson and Alex Wade, plus the following:
Charles graduated from London University and has lived in Fulham since 1983. He has run his own Landscape Gardening business in the borough for over 20 years. Passionate about providing sporting opportunity for all, he oversaw development of the sports curriculum at FBS.
Deborah De Long
After gaining a BA degree in textile design in Manchester, Deborah worked as designer and buyer in the Home furnishings industry in both London and New York. She returned to Fulham with her family, set up her own design company, and realising the huge need for more secondary school choice for boys in Fulham got involved with setting up FBS.
Grahame is a graduate of the University of Leeds and a Chartered Accountant. His financial and commercial expertise includes development of an on-line educational platform, providing educational services to governments and establishing a British curriculum school in Abu Dhabi, where he was also on the Governing Board. His financial acumen was pivotal to the secure establishment of the school in its first year. Grahame served as a governor until his work took him back to the Middle East in 2015.
A BA Hons graduate from Cambridge, Jonny spent the first half of his career in marketing in Unilever and Cadburys followed by the last 15 years working as a freelance business developer and marketing consultant for London based professional service companies in the marketing and advertising arenas.
He was the inspiration behind the idea of a new boys’ school in Fulham. He served as the first vice chair of Governors, and chaired the Resources Committee, before stepping down in September 2015. He remains a member of the school’s Sports committee.
Rebecca has 20 years experience in the media and in public relations including working as a journalist on several national newspapers. She specialises in handling corporate communications and reputation management. Rebecca remains an active member of the school’s sports committee.
Simon is an architect with over 30 years experience including buildings for schools in the primary, secondary & tertiary education sectors. He was closely involved with assessments of potential sites for the application process and in locating FBS’s temporary and permanent homes.
In 2010, Sophia became the founding force behind the idea of a new boys’ secondary CofE school in Fulham. She remains an active part of the Friends of FBS. She graduated from Reading University with a degree in Geography and has 17 years experience in sales. She lives in Fulham with her husband, Alex, and three sons, and runs her own relocation agency business.
